You see us light it up with the use of bands and chains on our core lifts all the time at the MAN Cave...
For good reason too...THEY WORK!!!
The way we use these tools in our squats, bench press, and deadlifts is a very methodical process that requires a clear understanding of why we use them and how we use them...
The thing is though, our core lifts aren't the only lifts we use bands and chains with...
That's right, we get crazy with our supplemental and accessory lifts as well!!!

Another thing, I always urge people to experiment with these tools and look for different ways you can make use out of them...
As with any mode of exercise, I always say when it comes to the variety of your exercise list, you are only limited to your own creativity...
