2 Tactics to add 55 lbs to your bench
Published: Wed, 08/07/13
I hit the gym today hard. I literally felt
like my muscles were about to jump out of
my skin and I was about to pass out...
One of those days when every lift felt great
and everything just seemed to click.
Well I was on my last set of the bench banging
out a set of 8 reps with 315, when after I racked
the weight my spotter asked me a pretty funny
question.
"How the hell do you bench like that?!"
I laughed a bit and assumed that he was referring
to how I use an arch while I bench.
After I caught my breath and wiped the sweat
off of my brow, I explained to him the three major
reasons why you want to use an arch and how
it can bump your max by up to 35 lbs instantly...
After I explained the what's and the why's
of the arch I told him to get under the bar
and teach him how he could use it too...
The three sets he did prior to learning this
trick he was struggling to get 185 lbs for
a set of 3 reps (an UGLY 3 reps)...
After he learned it, he hit a set of 7 like
it was nothing!!!
He got up without hesitating and said "got
any more tricks?!"
I then told him that if he did that I noticed
he didn't do any "priming" work before
he got under the bar...
"Priming work???"
Let me tell you, this is the secret weapon that
I've been using on all of my most successful
lifters to help them wake up "dormant" muscle
fibers and kickstart their metabolism...
That means building more muscle and burning
a TON of fat!
